Chicken Adoptions - Eight Rhode Island Reds, One Silkie, One Rhode Island Red Rooster

We adopted these beautiful Rhode Island Reds and Black Giant girls on Friday December 12, 2014, and were blessed with three eggs today! They are acclimating marvelously. They pay no attention to our young pullets or the cutest little fluffy butt pre-named Aloycious we also adopted on Friday!

Having our own free range eggs is a GOOD thing!

Last night we adopted a beautiful Rhode Island Red rooster. He's young, gentle and teaching the girls that it's his job to feed them!

Soon we'll be selling lots of cute little chicks and Certified Natural fed eggs.

Certified Natural fed entails that the feed we give them contains so antibiotics, no hormones and no meat or feathers. They are, however, free to eat all the grasshoppers and other garden pests they want with strict instruction of no lizards and earthworms. We look forward to having these help with the bug population, it's wonderful to see chickens roam again in the back "40".
